Don't let alcohol take the wheel for you... "Your life is more important" is the slogan of the new campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of road traffic and the risks associated with alcohol, which is being launched to coincide with the winter and end-of-year holidays. The campaign, initiated by the National Observatory for Road Safety (ONSR), will be launched on Sunday, December 17 and run until 2 January. It will be widely publicised in the media and on social networks, according to the organisers. In a statement to TAP on Saturday, ONSR spokesman Mourad Jouini deplored the increase in the number of alcohol-related accidents on our roads. This road safety campaign also highlights the dangers of excessive speed, which remains a scourge on the roads, and risky behaviour by drivers (failure to give way, failure to yield to pedestrians, etc.). He added that this awareness-raising and information campaign, which will also highlight the importance of regular vehicle maintenance, will be widely broadcast on television channels, radio and social networks. The ONSR spokesman pointed out that the first phase of the campaign will be launched on Sunday to coincide with the winter holidays, while the second phase will begin on Saturday, December 23.
