Kobine Planning Committee appreciates MTN’s decade of partnership

The 2024 Kobine Festival Planning Committee has thanked the Mobile Telecommunication Network (MTN) Ghana for its partnership in the celebration for more than a decade in the Kobine Festival by the Chiefs and people of the Lawra Traditional Area. Naa Edwin Irekakpier, the Secretary to the 2024 Kobine Festival Planning Committee, who gave the commendation, expressed the hope that the partnership with the telecommunication giant would be sustained. Naa Irekakpier was speaking in Lawra, when MTN Ghana donated assorted items to support the celebration, this year of the Kobine Festival. The MTN donated GH?15,000 cheque GH?2,000.00 worth of airtime, some MTN souvenirs and a hamper. Aside from the donation, MTN Ghana also sponsored key activities of the celebration of the festival, including the MTN Kobine gala, the health walk, the MTN Kobine cycling race, the farmers' forum and the grand durbar. Naa Ngmenmaal Yobo III, the Chief of Kunyukuo and Chairperson of the Kobine Planning Committee, received the items on behalf of the chiefs and people of the Lawra Traditional Area. Naa Irekakpier, also the Chief of Yagpele, assured MTN Ghana of the continuous support of the people in the area to the MTN brand through the patronage of its products and services. Mr. Seth Owusu Nyamekye, the Upper West Regional Manager of MTN Ghana, assured the Committee of the commitment of the telecommunication company to supporting the festival celebration. He said: 'MTN recognizes the value of festivals to our communities that is why we support this festival among several others in Ghana.' Mr. Nyamekye acknowledged the commitment of the Paramount Chief of the Lawra Traditional Area, Naa Puowelle Karbo III, towards the development of the traditional area. He also thanked the people in the area for their loyalty to the MTN brand over the years. He explained that MTN Ghana would pitch stands at the festival ground to provide its services such as pin reset, Mobile Money (MoMo) registration and MTN Mobile Application such as Ayoba, MoMo App and MyMTN App registration, among others.
