Avenor Traditional Council Announces Temporary Ban on Funerals for Festival Preparations.

Avenor: The Avenor Traditional Council has declared a customary ban on funerals within the Avenor region to facilitate preparations for the fifth annual festival celebration. The ban is set to be in effect from Monday, November 11 to Monday, November 25. According to Ghana News Agency, the announcement was made through a statement signed by Torgbui Tali Gafatsi III, the Chairman of this year's Avenor Tutudoza Central Planning Committee. The statement emphasized the collaboration between the Central Festival Planning Committee and the Avenor Traditional Council in implementing the ban on all funerals and mass gatherings during this period. The statement also provided details of the activities leading up to the grand durbar, scheduled for Saturday, November 23. These activities include general clean-up exercises, a health walk, reconciliation and cleansing rites, a pilgrimage to 'Datsutagba,' and the Mama Nutifafa Avenor beauty pageant. Additional events comprise an Artists' Night and Musical Concert, street jams, homage-paying to the Paramount Chief, and a thanksgiving church service. Togbe Dorglo Anumah VI, who serves as the President of the Avenor Traditional Council and Paramount Chief of the Avenor Traditional Area, appealed to the public to cooperate by strictly adhering to the ban. The objective is to ensure peaceful and successful celebrations. This year's festival theme is 'Fostering Peace and Unity for Sustainable Development in Avenor.'
