Sekondi: The English Assembly of the Anaji Estate District of the Church of Pentecost has made a significant investment in the lives of students at the Sekondi School for the Deaf (Sekdeaf) by donating GHC20,000 worth of items. According to Ghana News Agency, the donation was presented over the weekend and included 200 pieces of sachet water, seven bags of rice, a 20-litre oil container, large sacks of beans, gari, and maize, baskets of bread, 10 bottled water, packs of toothpaste, toiletries, deodorants, and sanitary pads, among other items. Deaconess Sarah Tsotsoo Quansah, the Assistant Head of the Women's Ministry of the Church, highlighted that the Church has a special ministry for persons with disabilities and felt a duty to meet the needs of these special children. Deaconess Quansah also explained that the core mandate of Christian living is to attend to the needs of the vulnerable in society. She emphasized, 'We know the Bible says whatsoever we do to these ones, we do it to the Lord and so we want to feed the poor, cloth the naked and visit the imprisoned as well.' Madam Regina Esselfie, the Headmistress of Sekdeaf, expressed her joy and gratitude for the church's generous support. She noted that the gesture was significant and announced that some students were excelling and needed assistance to fully realize their potential. Madam Esselfie mentioned, 'We now have some of our students in Sekondi-Takoradi College because of the inclusive policy, and I know that many schools will open up for our children.'
