Accra: Daniel Asiedu, the man accused of murdering J.B. Danquah Adu, a Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, has emphatically denied all allegations of his involvement. In a recent hearing at an Accra High Court, Asiedu, also known as Sexy Don Don, stated that he never entered the lawmaker's house, questioning how his footprints could have been found at the crime scene if he had never visited the residence. According to Ghana News Agency, Asiedu asserted his innocence in court, claiming that influential individuals orchestrated a plot to frame him for the murder of the MP. He stated that he was unfamiliar with J.B. Danquah Adu until the police showed him a photograph of the deceased. Asiedu testified that he was coerced and taken to the MP's house by law enforcement officers. Asiedu also refuted police claims that he handed a stained knife to a woman named Jane to clean after the murder. He claimed he only met Jane after her return from a prostitution business, questioning why the police did not call her to testify in court. Furthermore, Asiedu alleged that the lawmaker's wife was aware of those who intended to harm her husband, and he criticized the police for not summoning key witnesses, including the deceased's family and three alleged police officers present at the scene. The accused, who also goes by the nickname 'Gucci Young Star,' claimed that the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, gave him the moniker Sexy Don Don. He expressed disbelief that he could have overpowered the taller and bigger MP with a knife, as alleged by the police. Asiedu is scheduled for cross-examination by Principal State Attorney Sefakor Batsa on Thursday, November 14, 2024. He faces charges of murder in the death of J.B. Danquah Adu, who was killed at his East Legon home in February 2016. Although charged with conspiring with Vincent Bossu, Bossu was acquitted after a no-case submission by the defense counsel. Asiedu, who has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge, has been instructed by Justice Lydia Osei Marfo to present his defense.
