Corruption, greed and other wicked societal values have become a serious challenge to the true Christian faith. It is, therefore, important for Ghana to raise a generation of intellectuals who will stand as pillars of integrity and holiness to fight corruption in the country. Pastor Francis Fosu, National Coordinator of the Deeper Life Campus Fellowship (DLCF), stated these at the annual national campus community conference of the Deeper Life church, at Brofoyeduru, near Kumasi. The conference dubbed: 'Great Awakening', attracted academic intellectuals such as lecturers, students, office staff, national service persons, among others, from various universities across the country. They were taken through topics such as occultism, betting, gambling, sexual sins, examination malpractices and some other crafty ways the devil use to destroy the youth. Pastor Fosu pointed out that over 50 percent of countries worldwide, scored below 50 percent on the corruption perception index. Additionally, nearly 45 percen t of the youth globally, believe that honesty was not essential for success. It is also estimated that violence was the leading cause of death among the youth worldwide. Pastor Fosu, therefore, called on the youth to embrace higher standards of purity, honesty and integrity to define their character and make the society a healthier place to stay. Professor Charles Amoatey, a Pastor of the Deeper Life Campus Fellowship at the University of Ghana, Legon, said the conference would offer spiritual revival awakening at a time when the youth had opportunities and challenges. He said teachings at the conference would champion the course of bringing hope to the students on the various university campuses. They would know how to lead with a vision and have the opportunity to discover the meaning of leadership and influence. Prof. Amoatey said the young intellectuals would ignite 'fire' through excellence in character and service to humanity. They would also carry revival radiating the beauty of Christianity. H e advised the youth to also help maintain peace in the nation before, during and after the elections, adding that, the electrons should not be an avenue for unrest and division, and that, they must not allow themselves to be used by politicians.
