GOSANET Foundation, a Health not-for-profit operating in the Adaklu district through strategic collaboration and community initiative continues to advance their mission of improving public health and social well-being in the Adaklu district. Mr Samuel Yao Atidzah, Executive Director of GOSANET Foundation disclosed this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Ho at the weekend. He stated that in partnership with the Adaklu District Health Directorate (ADHD), the Foundation launched the Epidemic Preparedness and Response Financing Project to strengthen the district's capacity to respond to health emergencies. Mr Atidzah said as part of the project, four media discussions were held focusing on the establishment of a Public Health Emergency Fund. He noted that the discussions were designed to raise awareness and rally support from communities and stakeholders for a sustainable funding mechanism to address future health crisis. The Executive Director intimated that they were working to increase immuniza tion campaign to improve on vaccine uptake and increase public understanding of immunization. He disclosed that the Foundation in collaboration with the ADHD successfully organised the 2024 African Vaccination and Child Health week. 'During the week celebration, we emphasized on the importance of vaccination and child health services,' he said. He stated that from February to June, this year, GOSANET Foundation spearheaded Social Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC) activities focusing on malaria prevention and elimination. Mr Atidzah disclosed that under the SBCC the Foundation reached out to 1,932 people in 17 churches, 401 people in five Muslim communities and 1, 906 pupils in nine schools in the district with essential information on malaria. He continued that 1,110 people were also educated on personal health education during their house-to-house visits in some communities in the district and beyond. Mr Atidzah noted that this could not be possible without the unwavering support of their stakehol ders and partners. 'With the continued collaboration of all our stakeholders, we hope to expand our impact and bring lasting change to the lives of those we serve,' he stated. Source : Ghana News Agency
