KETE-KRACHI: Nana Mpra Besemuna III, the Paramount Chief of Krachi traditional area in the Oti Region, has appealed to the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, to construct a bridge over River Oti, if the Party wins the December elections. He emphasized that the construction of the bridge would simplify travel, enhance socio-economic activities, and positively impact the local economy. According to Ghana News Agency, Nana Besemuna raised concerns during Mr. Mahama's campaign tour in Kete-Krachi about the frequent breakdown of the ferry on River Oti. These breakdowns have left thousands of travelers and commuters stranded, causing significant delays in crossing and commercial activities, and resulting in business losses in the area and beyond. The Chief highlighted that the essence of governance for rural communities is to improve socio-economic life. In response, Mr. Mahama assured the chief and the people of the region that his administration would address their concerns and not disappoint them if elected to power on December 7.
