Under the slogan "Collaborate to create innovation," the Monastir-El Fejja Competitiveness Pole (MFCPOLE) on Tuesday organised the Mediterranean CRE@CTIVE DAYS, as part of the CRE@CTIVE project (Innovation for bringing creativity to activate Traditional Sectors in MED área). Funded by the European Commission's ENI CBC MED programme, the project brings together 14 countries from the Mediterranean basin and aims to promote value chains and commercial alliances between countries in the Mediterranean textile, footwear and leather sectors, MFCPOLE CEO Jelal Belhaj Khalifa told TAP. Financed by means of euro 3.2 million by the European Union, the CRE@CTIVE project seeks to support equitable development between the two shores of the Mediterranean and to encourage SMEs in the textile and leather sector in the field of innovation and business development through networking between them and the creative industries. Launched in December 2020, the CRE@CTIVE project has helped create 5 "FabLab" laboratories as part of the consolidation of renovation, technology transfer and the development of scientific research in the textile, leather and footwear sector.
