NCCE and IPDC Collaborate with Inter-Faith Organizations for Peaceful Elections.

Agotime-Ziope: The Agotime-Ziope District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), in collaboration with the Inter-Party Dialogue Committee (IPDC), has engaged inter-faith organizations to promote peaceful elections. Mr. Christian Ahiawodzi, the District Director of the NCCE, emphasized the importance of collective efforts to maintain the current peace in the region. According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Ahiawodzi highlighted that development can only thrive in a peaceful environment, which underscores the necessity for citizens to unite in safeguarding the nation's peace and security. He mentioned that the Commission is actively working to help citizens appreciate the existing peace and to discourage actions that might jeopardize it. The Director urged members of the Inter-Party Dialogue Committee to persist in their endeavors to engage political parties on the importance of refraining from monetizing electoral campaigns. He pointed out that excessive financial influence or vote-buy ing undermines fundamental democratic principles such as probity and accountability. Detective Inspector Mallam Nagbija, Chairman of the IPDC, called upon faith-based organizations to be vigilant about the risks posed by misinformation and disinformation that could disrupt the peaceful atmosphere. He encouraged members to verify information before disseminating it.
