It is necessary to excercise caution against the spread of seasonal viruses, mainly the JN.1 Covid strain which the World Health Organisation called a 'variant of interest,, said Dr. Riadh Daghfous, the Director of the National Pharmacovigilance Centre and member of the Scientific Committee to fight the coronavirus. " The new variant was not detected in Tunisia so far," Daghfous told TAP. Many cases had been reported across the world since last summer. There is need to monitor this latest subvariant as it is spreading quickly, Daghfous said, with such symptoms as fever, headache, fatigue, asthenia and cough. The pandemic is not over yet and it is imperative to comply with preventive measures, particularly at this end-of-year period, Parents are urged to abide by preventive measures to protct babies under two years of age with bronchiolitis which has largely spread recently in Tunisia with several of hospitalisations nd intensive care admissions reported.
