The Namibia Power Corporation (NamPower) has announced a scheduled power outage for the Kavango East and West regions. NamPower made the announcement in a media statement on Tuesday, saying the power outage is planned for Sunday (19 November) from 07h00 until 19h00. The outage will allow NamPower to facilitate the connection and activation of a new transformer at the Rundu Substation, which was installed to cater for the increased demand of electricity at the town. 'It will also allow for maintenance to be done,' the statement read. NamPower cautioned residents of the two regions to treat all power lines and electrical points as live during power outages, as power supply can be restored without prior notification.
