Ten assaults against journalists and photojournalists were recorded in August, the monitoring unit of the National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) said in its latest report Monday. These assaults were reported following the monitoring of social media, websites and TV programmes, as well as the testimonies of the victims, the monitoring unit pointed out. The assaults were committed against 12 journalists and photojournalists from 6 media organisations, including 2 websites and one TV channel. In this context, the SNJT called on the Presidency of the Republic to respect the independence of the editorial line of the national television channel.
