Dozens of substitute primary school teachers held a protest rally in front of the Ministry of Education on Wednesday, demanding that they be recruited and integrated into the teaching profession. The coordinator of the substitute primary school teachers, Wafa Dalensi, met with Minister of Education, Saloua Abassi, to present the grievances of the protesting teachers and to receive answers to their demands. The Minister of Education stressed that this issue is being studied and that a list of substitute teachers to be recruited will be announced in mid-May,' Dalensi told TAP. 'Substitute teachers have been living in uncertainty for several years because their situation has not been regularised,' she added. Dalensi said substitute teachers would stage a protest on May 16, if the Ministry of Education did not announce the recruitment of the first tranche of teachers. Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
