Tunisia exported 26,396 tonnes of fruits from January 1 to September 4, down 44.7% compared to the same period last year. The value of exports fell almost 15%, data provided by the Inter-professionnel Fruit Grouping (French: GIFruits) show. This drop is mainly due to fruit exports to Libya plummeting from from 38,285 tonnes in the period from January 1 to September 2022 to 19,385 tonnes now. Libya - the biggest importer of Tunisian fruits (nearly 73.5%)- imported during the current season 8,022 tonnes of peaches, 3,461 tonnes of plum and 3,423 tonnes of apricot. Italy ranked second with 4,817 tonnes of fruits, including 4,314 tonnes of watermelon.
